Multi-Faith Relationships Change Everything | Bob Roberts, Jr., GlocalNet
As a result of population migration, people of all religions are all places. And now that more faiths are represented in more regions, it’s imperative we learn how to relate to one another despite our differences. At Multi-Faith Neighbors Network (MFNN), we’re asking ourselves, “What if religions were leaders in bringing people of different faiths together?” And, “What if religions worked together to build resilient cities around the world?”
Global religious leaders, Pastor Bob Roberts, Imam Mohamed Magid, and Rabbi David Saperstein, have partnered together to create a multi-faith experience to lead this effort amongst their peers. Over a period of two-and-a-half days, a variety of religious clerics come together to meet and discuss their religions openly. Following the MFNN conference, clerics invite each other into their homes to break bread together, host mixers at their house of worship, and engage in a community project together.
MFNN focuses on building community through religion, not in spite of it. Resilient cities are those that respect people who are different than themselves, respond to change easier, and are better prepared for unexpected events. MFNN has done this work across the country and around the globe, most recently in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
