Surviving Covid 19 - We're going online.

Hi TBN Asia friends and partners,

Over the past 6 months, TBN Asia (TBNA) has been evolving into an eco-system that is more defined, deeper and more engaging with various stakeholders to better fight poverty through business enterprises in South East Asia.

Today, TBNA’s updated eco-system comprises 4 pillars:

  1. Conferences and Forums – connecting all the stakeholders together. We have a scheduled conference from 6-7 Aug in KL for 2020 (please note the latest update due to COVID19 outlined below)

  2. Social Entrepreneurship Training Hub (SETH) – equipping revenue generating social enterprises (“SE”) to be investment ready. At present, with the grant funding from John Templeton Foundation awarded in November 2019, we are in the midst of training our 1st cohort of 10 SEs in Jakarta.

  3. Investors’ Club – we are currently actively developing programs for members of social impact Investors Clubs in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong and soon Japan to guide them to identify and invest in investment ready SEs.

  4. Mentors and Coaches Network – this network is currently being developed both for SETH (matching mentors and coaches with our cohorts) as well as other SEs that are working in tandem with TBN Asia.

By defining the 4 pillars, TBNA is able to match-make the time, talents and treasures of our volunteers into more effective manner. We believe each of these 4 pillars is very much integrated with one another.

TBN Asia is ready to meet the real needs of SEs that are involved in economic empowerment for the poor and marginalized in South East Asia, especially in the current global COVID19 pandemic that will be prolonged for a long time to come.

We have re-designed our scheduled 6-7 Aug KL Conference as follows:

  • It will be focused on not just to help SEs thrive but help SEs survive during the COVID19 crisis

  • It will be a virtual instead of physical conference

  • It will be advanced to start in June to August instead of just a 2 day event in August.

  • It will be spread over a number of dedicated and theme-focused webinars that are directly relevant for engagement, participation and investment for SEs, investors, mentors, Foundations, family offices, NGOs and delegates.

  • [There will be registration fees charged (as planned) for the newly formatted TBN Asia Conference 2020 but these registration fees will go to primarily (80%) support the participating SEs while the remaining 20% will be used to defray organizational and admin costs as a result of staging the conference.]

More details to come. Stay safe, stay positive.
