Singapore —Transformational Business Network (TBN) Asia has received a two-year grant from John Templeton Foundation (JTF) to initiate the project ‘Creating Jobs and Alleviating Poverty Through Business Support in Indonesia’, through our SETH (Social Enterprise Training Hub) program, which aims to provide 500 new jobs & serve 100,000 people living in poverty. SETH will support capacity building for 40 growth-stage Social Enterprises and work with them to secure investment from participating funders.

The grant will allow the team to continue to provide business scaling support and tailored expertise for pre-investment stage SMEs over the next 2 years, to help them secure and reach investment goals. TBN Asia will also facilitate matchmaking of investment-ready enterprises with other suitable impact investors to achieve the mobilization of USD 1.5 million in impact investment capital by 2021.

In addition, TBN Asia will continue building investor and entrepreneur relationships, share insights and mobilize investment through conferences and expand its presence in South East Asia, while developing local social entrepreneurship ecosystems in ASEAN.

SETH’s official debut is on 13 November 2019 in Jakarta which will also host the first round of social entrepreneurs and mentors recruitment.
