Affordable Abodes is a social enterprise that promotes the construction of environmentally-sound, low-cost housing for the less fortunate using kenaf - a plant with an incredible range of applications.

Al-Ashriyyah Nurul Iman Islamic Boarding School provides over 15,000 children with free education, accommodation, and health services. The school is entirely self-sustainable through student entrepreneurship. The school has a bakery, recycling centre, and even a hair salon that is run by students.

Affordable Abodes chose Nurul Iman as a place to develop and utilise kenaf plants. In line with the school’s goals, Affordable Abodes aims to create housing that is environmentally friendly and affordable, by processing the kenaf plant into the main ingredient for making bricks.
